The "Triple-Lock" on Melanin
Each ingredient shuts down the pigment-making enzyme (tyrosinase) in a different way:
- Kojic Acid (The Chelator): It "grabs" the copper ions that the enzyme needs to stay alive. Without copper, the enzyme can't function.
- Alpha Arbutin (The Decoy): It mimics the amino acids the enzyme usually "eats." The enzyme binds to the Arbutin instead of making pigment, effectively wasting its energy.
- Aspen Bark (The Calmer): Since inflammation is a major trigger for melanin (think of how a pimple turns into a dark spot), the natural salicylates in Aspen Bark soothe the skin, preventing the "alarm" that tells your cells to produce more pigment.
